The Not Another Pair of Novelty Socks Christmas Gift Guide
Let’s be honest. Buying for a cyclist is a nightmare if you don't ride yourself.
We’re a fussy bunch. We obsess over tyre tread patterns, we have strong opinions on chain lube, and we definitely don’t need another pizza cutter shaped like a bicycle.
Since the shop is currently closed for browsing, you might be panicking about getting the right kit. Don't worry. Here is the Back-on Track Guide to Stocking Fillers that riders in Malvern will actually use.
1. The Gift of a Silent Bike (Cleaning Kit)
There is nothing, and we mean nothing, better than a clean bike. Given the current state of the muddy bridleways around the Hills, a proper cleaning kit is essential.
- What to look for: You can’t go wrong with Muc-Off. A bottle of their pink cleaner, some chain degreaser, and a decent brush set is the gold standard. It’s the gift that says, "I love you, and I also love not having mud all over the hallway carpet."
2. Winter Warmers (That actually work)
Riding in December is cold. Hands and feet are the first things to freeze.
- What to look for: Deep winter gloves. Look for "windproof" and "thermal." If you want to splash out, a pair of neoprene overshoes (the things that go over cycling shoes) are a game-changer for roadies tackling wet lanes.
3. Good Lights (To see, not just be seen)
With the sun setting at 4pm, lights are vital.
- What to look for: We’re talking about high-lumen front lights that turn a dark trail into daylight. If the rider in your life is still using a dim little flickering light, an upgrade here is a safety feature and a performance boost.
4. The "Big" One...
Okay, maybe you’re feeling generous. Maybe there’s a bike-shaped space under the tree.
While the shop is temporarily closed for walk-ins, we are still monitoring emails. If you have spotted a bike on our website, perhaps a bargain from the Last Chance Saloon and want to snap it up for Christmas, drop us an email! We are working towards setting up appointment-only collections very soon.
Need Advice?
